A 11-year-old boy has pointed out a grammatical blunder in internationally famous pop singer Justin Bieber’s new Song titled ‘Boyfriend’.
“If I was your boyfriend, I’d never let you go” line irked the boy particularly. Posted on Facebook by his teacher, the kid’s letter is going viral on social media.
In the letter, the kid pointed out that the “If I was your boyfriend, I’d never let you go” lyric should be ‘If I were your boyfriend’.
It may be noted that ‘if I was’ and ‘if I were’ is a very common mistake made by people but the kid couldn’t take it when a popular singer like Justin Bieber, who is a role model for many, made the same mistake. The boy suggested him to make some effort to study the grammar to use it correctly.
The kid also advised Bieber to learn from fellow singer Beyonce Knowles in regard usage of grammar in lyrics.
