Congress has fielded Gaurav Gogoi from Kaliabor constituency. Gaurav Gogoi is the son of former Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi of Assam. Here, the Asom Gana Parishad, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)’s allies, have made MM Mahant the candidate.
It can be said that BJP is dominated after the alliance with the Assam Gana Parishad. It is not surprising if there is a dent in the Congress’s strongest stronghold in the state.

Diganta Kumar is on the field in front of the Hindustan Construction Team. Abdul Aziz is also from the National People’s Party.
Eight candidates from this parliamentary constituency are going to try their luck. Bhaskar Sarmah and Jatin Gogoi are in front of Independent candidates. But for Congress, difficulties can increase this time. After the 2014 Lok Sabha elections, the position of BJP in Assam has been dominant. This state has not been insulated from the issue of nationalism.
