Despite Telangana is one of the very few states to have surplus Budget, the State Government could not help its Farmers and the state has witnessed close to 1500 Farmer suicides ever since TRS party formed government.
The government and the Chief Minister K Chandrasekhara Rao, who did very little for the farmers citing lack of funds, are gearing up to start ‘Aayudha Chandi Yagnam, a religious ceremony, by spending close to Rs 7 Crore. The chief minister himself has admitted that the cost will be around Rs. 7 crore. However, he clarified that the state government will not burden the bill but he himself will pay from his pocket and with the help of relatives and friends.
The five-day ritual will start today and conducted near his farmhouse in Medak district. 108 yagnam platforms and 1500 priests from across the country are invited apart from 50,000 VIPs including President Pranab Mukherjee, Chief Ministers, Governors and Union Ministers are attending the event.
Farmers wonder, if the CM has so much money, why not help out the poor farmers who keep committing suicides?
