The much-anticipated Movie of this year, Kedarnath released on this Friday. The Film was in a lot of controversies during its shoot due to the alleged rift between the director Abhishek Kapoor and the former producer of the movie, KriArj Productions.
The film stars Sushant Singh Rajput and Sara Ali Khan in lead roles. Kedarnath also marked the debut of Sara Ali Khan, the daughter of Saif Ali Khan and his former wife, Amrita Singh. The Audience loved the Trailer and the Songs, which helped to keep alive the positive buzz around the film.
However, upon release, it has received mixed reviews from the critics. While, almost all the critics have appreciated the roles played by the lead characters, especially of the debutant Sara Ali Khan, many of them have suggested that the movie lacks pace, have a complicated narrative and to some extent seems dragged.
However, the movie has performed above expectation in its opening day at Indian Box Office. Released on 1850 screens, Kedarnath has collected 7.5 Crores in its opening day, while the trade had expected the collection to be in the range of 4-5 Crores.
