Kohli Breaks ABD’s Record; Fastest to 7000 Runs

Star Indian batsman Virat Kohli has toppled records to score the fastest 7000 ODI runs.

In the process, he broke the record set by South African star batsman AB de Villiers. Comparing the two batsmen, while ABD took 172 matches and 166 innings to score 7000 runs in ODIs, Kohli repeated the same feat in 169 matches with the help of 161 innings. Kohli played 5 innings less than ABD to achieve the feat and get his name in record books.

Kohli’s feat of 7000 ODI runs came in the ongoing ODI match against Australia, the 3rd in the 5-match series. Kohli slammed his 24th century and scored 117 runs off 117 balls to take India to 295/6 in 50 overs. It will be a tough task for the bowlers to defend the target as in the first two ODIs Indian bowlers failed to defend 300 plus runs and lost the first two OIDs to hosts.
