Kohli Rose to No.1, Rested for Sri Lanka Series

Dashing Indian Cricketer Virat Kohli rose to No.1 rank in the latest ICC T20I rankings.

Kohli scored 90*, 59* and 50 in the three match T20 series against Australia to gain 47 ratings points. The Indian Test Skipper claimed No.1 rank by pushing Australia’s T20 skipper Aaron Finch behind. Kohli have 892 points while Finch has got 868 points.

After this terrific performance, selectors rested Kohli for the upcoming three-match T20 series against Sri Lanka. The decision to rest Kohli has been keeping the Asia Cup, to be played in Bangladesh later in the month and the forthcoming World Twenty20 tournament in India from 8th March in mind.

Delhi left-arm Spinner Pawan Negi has been included in the squad, the only change made by selection committee to the team that thumped Australia in the just concluded T20I series.
