The Worldwide popular “Kolaveri Di” Song form Dhanush’s Movie ‘3’, has surpassed 100 million views on YouTube since its release, thus becoming the first Indian Video to achieve the feat.
“Kolaveri Di” song was released by Sony Music on 16th November, 2011 and it has crossed the 100 million views benchmark on 2nd December. Soon after release, the song became the Most Searched video in India.
Sung and written by Dhanush himself, “Kolaveri di” caught the attention of every section of people with its quirky lyrics and colloquial tune. It reached to all corners of the globe in no time.
Composed by young Anirudh Ravichander, the song was sung in an unconventional way by Dhanush. It was part of “3” Film, which was directed by Dhanush’s wife Aishwarya and starring Shruthi Haasan.
The song attracted everyone because of its simplicity and originality. It had a raw feel to it, making it extremely relatable for everyone.
