In an embarrassing incident, Odisha Assembly Speaker Niranjan Pujari has today suspended Congress Party legislator Nabakishore Das for 7 days for watching obscene/porn Videos inside the house.
Reportedly, Das was caught on camera by a local news channel while watching the porn clips on his mobile phone during question hour in the assembly. Meanwhile, the MLA denied watching any obscene video and said that the obscene page appeared suddenly while he was browsing internet. However, the ruling Biju Janata Dal demanded for probe and strict action against the leader.
On the other hand, the opposition parties, Congress and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) have walked out of the assembly expressing their anger over the decision of speaker to suspend him without probe. They complained that Speaker did not take into account the claim of Das before deciding to suspend him.
These kinds of incidents have become common for Indian legislators. In the recent past, two BJP ministers of Karnataka were caught by television cameras while watching porn videos on their mobile phones sitting in Assembly.
