An arrest order was issued against Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) MLA Raj Ballabh Yadav for raping a minor girl in Bihar.
The arrest order was issued following a complaint against Raj Ballabh Yadav by a 15-year-old girl, who alleged that the MLA raped her on February 6. The statement of the girl was taken under section 164 of IPC and later an FIR was lodged against Yadav with Women police station in Nalanda. The minor girl had identified the accused MLA in person.
Yadav won from Nawada seat on RJD ticket in the recently concluded Bihar Assembly elections. Earlier, he served as a minister in the RJD government.
RJD’s Bihar unit President Ram Chandra Purve has today said that Yadav has been suspended from the party with immediate effect. He added that the decision was taken to ensure that nobody damages the reputation of the party in future. He assured that strict action would be initiated against Raj Yadav if he is found to be guilty.
