Allu Arjun’s recently released action entertainer ‘Sarrainodu’ has all the chances of becoming a super hit but it will surely leave big holes in the pockets of overseas distributors.
After its 4 days of run, Sarraindu has Grossed Rs 50 Cr Worldwide. It is a phenomenal feat given the Film received largely mixed reviews. The film is doing solid business in the two Telugu states especially in B and C centres. As the film held very well on Monday, trade experts believe that Sarrainodu will be declared a super hit by its full run.
Despite all this, Sarrainodu is expected to be a big flop in overseas. The film has so far collected only 700K dollars. The number would have been called good if the film had been sold for reasonable price.
Here is the overseas analysis:
Overseas rights were sold for 5 Cr
Expenses on publicity and others 55 Lakhs
Rest of the US rights were sold for 75 Lakhs
So, the film must collect a Share of 4.8 Cr in the US to let distributors get break- even status. The film has so far recovered just 2.4 Cr and the trend is not encouraging.
Losses to the tune of 40% are expected in the USA.
