The ‘My Brick My Amaravati’ campaign launched in a grand manner by Andhra Pradesh state government to involve people in building the capital city Amaravati, has received good response.
For the starters, each brick costs Rs 10 and anyone can donate any number of bricks by just going to the official site. As per reports, so far, the site has received 11 lakh visits, which is commendable but among the huge number only 54,000 people donated the bricks.
Number of visits is huge but unfortunately the donators are not even 10 percent. So far, 36 lakhs bricks were donated in which APCRDA itself donated 50,000 plus bricks, the highest.
Most of the donations came from government organizations, clubs, associations and non-profit organizations. Surprisingly, individuals, who are the main target of this Initiative, have not generously come forward to support the cause yet.
It is high time for people to realize that the capital is the only way to regain the lost pride of Telugu state.
