Young Akkineni hero Naga Chaitanya will star in the Telugu remake of Malayalam blockbuster Film ‘Premam’. As per the latest information, the makers have finalized ‘Majnu’ as the title.
It is well known that ‘Majnu’ was the title of Naga Chaitanya’s father Nagarjuna’s film in the direction of Dasari Narayana Rao, which was released in 1987.
Using the title of that cult film is a daring move but it has also grabbed much needed attention for this new film, to be directed by Chandoo Mondeti of ‘Karthikeya’ fame.
Anupama Parameswaran, who played one of the lead actresses in the Malayalam film, will reprise her role. Amyra Dastur of ‘Anekudu’ fame is heard to have been confirmed as another lead.
Makers are in discussions with Shruthi Haasan to act as the main leading lady. This film will go on floors in November month.
Chaitanya is currently busy shooting for Goutam Menon’s ‘Saahasam Swaasaga Saagipo’. This romantic drama has Malayalam actress Manjima Mohan in the female lead role.
