Nepal Blocks All Indian TV Channels

In an outrageous politically charged move, Nepal cable TV operators have blocked all Indian Television Channels for indefinite period to protest against the ‘blockade of goods’ from the Himalayan nation.

Several trucks carrying goods from Nepal to India have been stranding on the India-Nepal border amidst an intense agitation from Joint Madhesi Front in Nepal protesting against the Seven-Province Model of new Constitution.

In response to India’s ‘blockade of Goods’, Nepal blocked Indian Television channels. This reaction from Nepal has further strained the relations between the two nations.

Ranjit Rae, Indian Ambassador to Nepal, opined that growing Anti-India sentiment in Nepal is a serious concern and it needs to be resolved through discussion not through protests.

He added that such sentiment will harm both the countries. He opined that anti-India sentiment is spread by a section for political gain. Rae added that there are grievances in certain parts of Nepal that need to be addressed.

Meanwhile people of Nepal hope that the issues between the two nations will be resolved soon so that the ban on Indian channels gets lifted.
