Telugu Superstar Mahesh Babu on 1st December appealed to the Telangana government and the Prime Minister of India to push for stricter laws for heinous crimes.
Reacting to 26-year-old Veterinary doctor Priyanka Reddy’s case who was allegedly raped and killed on November 27, 2019, Mahesh Babu wrote on his Twitter page, “Day after day, month after month, year after year… NOTHING is changing. We are failing, as a society! Sending my personal appeal to the state & Central Governments.
“KTR TRS (Telangana minister K.T Rama Rao), PMO India, we need stricter laws, capital punishment for heinous crimes like these…,” he wrote.
“My heartfelt condolences to the families of the girls. Your pain is irreversible! Let’s come together to give justice to all the Women and young girls of our country… Let’s make India safe!” he added.
Telangana IT Minister and Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) party working President K.T. Rama Rao (KTR) has also reacted to the incident on 1st December and urged India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi to act swiftly to save the nation from the culprits who seem not to fear law of the land.
“Hon’ble PM Narendra Modi Ji, 7 years after Nirbhaya’s ghastly rape & murder; the convicts are still not hung! A 9-month child is raped recently, lower court ordered capital punishment; HC (High Court) revised it to life imprisonment!” KTR wrote on his Twitter page.
“A young veterinarian is barbarically murdered in Hyderabad. And the perpetrators have been nabbed. But I wonder how we can offer solace to the grieving family seeking justice for #PriyankaReddy,” he wrote.
“Justice delayed is justice denied sir. As the Parliament is in session, I urge you to take up the issue for a day-long discussion on priority,” he wrote.
He also wrote, “amend the Indian Penal Code (IPC) & Code of Criminal Procedure (CRPC) so anyone who commits such a heinous act of violence on our Women & Children are given capital punishment without delay & NO option for review Time has come to amend archaic portions of our Acts & Laws Sir.”
He further wrote, “Let us act swiftly to save our nation from these beasts who seem not to fear law of the land. Narendra Modi Ji, I appeal to you on behalf of millions of citizens who’re aggrieved yet feel helpless & want us lawmakers to raise up to the occasion & deliver expeditious justice.!
The rape and murder left everyone in shock across the country. Politicians like Rahul Gandhi, Pawan Kalyan, etc expresses shock over that happened nearby Rajiv Gandhi International Airport.
Outrage began across the country to furnish a new set of rules for Rapists. A half-burnt corpse of another rape victim was found nearby, on which police engaged their investigation.
Three police personnel of Shamshabad airport police station were suspended as they delayed in lodging the complaint of missing woman.
After their arrest protesters gathered at the Shadnagar police station and protested either to Hang or encounter the culprits.
