JanaSena party chief Pawan Kalyan on 4th December slammed the Andhra Pradesh chief minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy for not asking the centre to setting up a steel plant which was allotted to the State during the State division.
Pawan Kalyan said “when the issue of uranium mining in Nallamala came to my notice, some people from Kadapa approached me and asked me to speak on Tummalapalli. Deadly diseases have spread in Tummalapalli village area, about 20 km from Kadapa town due to uranium mining. People suffered from skin diseases and cancers.”
If the chief minister is wanted to employ the local youth, why is he not asking for setting up a steel plant which was allotted to the State during the State division? Why he wanted nuclear refinery instead? Pawan Kalyan asked Jagan Reddy.
The people are already migrating from the region, the government is depriving them now even the healthy environment.
Why the Jagan Reddy government wanted to set up a uranium refinery plant which may cause harm to the people of Rayalaseema leaving aside already sanctioned industries there.
Will you throw the people’s lives into risk for the sake of contracts to your people?
You have made Padayatra entire State, do you have the patience to visit Tummalapalli your neighbouring village?
If you have patience go and visit Tummalapalli and see the problems being faced by the people there.
Will you trouble the people by setting up most polluting industries in the region,” Kalyan asked.
