As we all remember, Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced on Independence Day that the Planning Commission would be replaced.
Following up the on the PM’s statement,the government, Thursday, renamed the plan board as ‘Neeti Ayog’.
The renaming of the Planning Commission is generally seen as the initial move towards supplanting it with new age institution.
The Prime Minister had assembled conference of all chief ministers recently to gather opinions on the structure of the new body.
In that meeting, the larger part was in favor of decentralization of powers.
