Poor maintenance of railway lines lead to derailment of Express train

The accident took place at SahadaiBuzurg in Sonpur Division of East Central Railway.

NDRF and SDRF teams are engaged in rescue operations.

Railway minister has offered compensations to the family of the deceased, major and minor injured passengers.

 

Aghast by the derailment news of Seemanchal Express (Train no: 12487) that trapped over 30 lives and caused the death of around seven passengers. People claim that many more individuals were caught underneath the 11 coaches that derailed. The accident took place at SahadaiBuzurg in Sonpur Division of East Central Railway.

The Disaster management Department Secretary Pratyaya Amrit said that the NDRF and SDRF teams are engaged in rescue Operations. The reason behind the derailment of the train is believed to be poor maintenance of railway tracks.

Bihar CM Nitish Kumar, PM Narendra Modi, and Congress President Rahul Gandhi conveyed their condolences to the family of the deceased. The injured passengers were admitted to government and private hospitals for treatment.

Railway Minister offered a compensation of Rs 5 lakh, Rs 1 lakh and Rs 50,000 to that of the kin of the deceased, severely injured and minor injured passengers respectively.
