AM Rathnam, one of the senior most producers of southern cinema, has produced sensational blockbusters such as Bharateeyudu, Oke Okkadu, Khushi etc. He is currently waiting for the release of Thala Ajith starrer ‘Vedhalam’ (Aavesham in Telugu).
In a recent promotional interview of Vedhalam, AM Ratnam confirmed that a sequel for iconic blockbuster, ‘Bharatheeyudu’ starring Kamal Haasan and directed by Shanakr, is definitely on the cards. It is almost two decades for the Movie but it still continues to be one of Shankar’s bet works.
The producer added that Kamal Haasan wanted to make the sequel for the Film, a long time back itself but the project never took off owing to lack of a solid script. He stated that he recently discussed the sequel idea with Shankar and sequel is definitely happening soon.
Meanwhile Shankar is busy with ‘Robot 2’ pre-production work.
