Racism in Football, Milan to execute behind closed doors

Inter Milan, as per the orders, will be playing the following two home games behind closed doors on Thursday. Napoli defender, Kalidou Koulibaly, was racially insulted during the Wednesday match.

Koulibaly too received a two-match ban by Serie A’s. It came as a disciplinary punishment for sarcastically applauding the referee for booking him. He was sent off the field in the 81st minute.
Napoli revealed in the club website that the Senegalese player was subject to “racist chants” during the match. Their coach Carlo Ancelotti asserted that some fans made animal noises, round the game.

The FARE network which monitors prejudice in European Football, revealed it to be a familiar incident, tweeting, “Once again in Italian football. The player is racially abused, the referee fails to act, the player is angry and gets sent off. The same cycle again and again.”
