A defamation suit was filed against Congress party President Rahul Gandhi in a Bhopal court over his alleged “All Modis are thieves” comment.
The petitioner Pradeep Modi said that he faced lot of insult because of the comment made by Rahul Gandhi.
Rahul Gandhi had earlier asked, “Why do all thieves have Modi in their names?”, referring to Nirav Modi, Lalit Modi and Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
As of May 2018, Rahul Gandhi trails behind incumbent Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi as the popular choice for Prime Minister in the 2019 General Elections.
Rahul Gandhi took over as the president of the Congress in December 2017.
