Former MP and Senior Congress leader Siricilla Rajaiah, who was first selected by the party to contest in the forthcoming Warangal by-elections, has now been suspended from the party for his alleged involvement in the fire accident that caused the death of his daughter-in-law Sarika and three grandChildren.
The Telangana Congress Committee President Uttam Kumar Reddy has today announced that Rajaiah is suspended from the Congress Party.
The Congress has been under severe pressure from Sarika’s family and Women’s organizations to suspend Rajaiah so that he could not interfere with the judicial system using his power.
The charred bodies of Rajaiah’s daughter-in-law and 3 grandsons were recovered from his residence on the early morning of 5th November.
The same day, Warangal police arrested Rajaiah, his wife and son Anil in this regard and they were sent for 15 days judicial remand.
Anil’s second wife Sana was arrested today after a 4-day long hunt. She too has been sent to judicial remand. Investigation is still on.
