It is well known that Supreme Court had imposed a 2 year ban on IPL Franchises Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Rajasthan Royals (RR) for their alleged involvement in spot fixing and betting scandals.
With this, BCCI had announced to include two other teams to replace them. There has been much enthusiasm and excitement over who will grab those two teams and which cities will get new IPL teams.
Finally, the cat is out of the bag as today BCCI had announced Pune and Rajkot as the two new IPL Franchises approved to play the next two editions of IPL. While Sanjeev Goenka’s New Rising grabbed the Pune Franchise, Intex Mobiles pocketed the ownership of Rajkot Franchise.
As Chennai Super Kings and Rajasthan Royals will not be going to play the next two editions, the star players of these two teams will be put for auction on 15th December.
All eyes are on the particular franchise to grab Mahendra Singh Dhoni, the skipper of CSK. Players like Brendon McCullum, Ajinkya Rahane, Shane Watson, Ashwin, Ravinder Jadeja, Suresh Raina etc will also be available for auction.
