Rs 1000 Crore project to connect Amaravati and Rayalaseema

The Union Ministry of Road Transport and Highways has sanctioned a Rs 1000 Crore project to connect Rayalaseema to the capital city, Amaravati. This project covers a total distance of 452 km, by linking National Highway NH 44 and NH 65.

The existing four-lane roads would be expanded to six and eight lanes, as per a letter sent to the AP government from Union Minister for Surface Transport Nitin Gadkari.

He has also given an in-principle nod for the 186 km Outer Ring Road around Amaravati. In fact, this would be the world’s longest ring road to connect the capital city from different directions.

This entire project would be taken up in the public private partnership (PPP) mode. National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) will allocate funds for this humongous project.

With this project, Amaravati will be the new city to attract Investments and ultra transport facilities.
