Rs 2,500 cr World Bank help for Andhra Pradesh utilities

The World Bank has consented to loan around Rs 2,500 crore to power utilities in Andhra Pradesh for improvement of rural power supply.

The World Bank was notified of State’s endeavors in reducing greenhouse gas emissions by improving energy efficiency.

According to the State Energy Conservation Mission’s statement, the financing is towards upgrading rural supply, smart city, distribution reinforcing Investments including those for new capital city, transmission frameworks including system strengthening and growth, among others.

Andhra Pradesh, one of the three states recognized for the ‘power for all’ scheme of the Central Government.
