On the 43^rd birthday of Sachin Tendulkar, today, an interesting thing has happened.

Ace batsman Virat Kohli, who is called the modern Sachin by many has scored his maiden T20 hundred. His team however couldn’t defend the strong total and Kohli’s century went in vain. Batting first, the Kohli led RCB posted a challenging 180 with Kohli scoring his first IPL century.

But, Gujarat Lions has produced a clinical batting display to outsmart Royal Challengers Bangalore by six wickets. The Lions chased down the target with three balls to spare. Brendon McCullum (42), Dwayne Smith (32), Suresh Raina (28) and Dinesh Karthik (50 off 39 balls) have produced a combined effort to topple RCB.

Kohli was distraught after the loss, to say the least.

Scoring hundreds and losing matches was also common to Sachin Tendulkar.
