Bollywood Superstar Salman Khan’s father Salim Khan, after his son’s acquittal in the 2002 hit-and-run case, had said that his son spent more than Rs 25 crore in the case. Now many feel that he spent that amount to mislead the case and buy witnesses.
It is known that few days back the Bombay High Court acquitted Salman of all charges in the 2002 case, seven months after a sessions court had convicted and sentenced him for five-year imprisonment.
Salim khan said that he was happy and relieved after the acquittal of Salman. He added that many people don’t know what Salman has gone through to get rid of this case. “People are saying that he just walked away, but he spent few days in the jail and spent over Rs 25 crores on this case. The tension that he and his wellwishers went through all this time was just unimaginable,” Salim added.
Many of Salman’s detractors feel that the star paid such huge amount only to get the judgment in his favor by buying the witnesses and law.
