This sankranthi season saw clash of four Telugu Films at the Box Office. Although all performed well until the first Sunday, the real test begins from today.
Apart from the Monday litmus test, the films now found new competitor. Vishal’s “Kathakali”, which was supposed to hit screens for sankranthi season (it already released on 14th Jan in Tamil and has received super hit talk), was postponed due to the rush of 4 films at Telugu box office.
As Kathakali has now that got blockbuster talk in Kollywood, Telugu makers have decided to release the Telugu version next week, on January 22nd. The already proven action thriller is expected to give tough competition to the Telugu Movies at box office. Directed by Pandiraj, Kathakali stars Catherine Tresa in the leading lady role.
Meanwhile Telugu Films have performed well since their release. In overseas, Nannaku Prematho is a clear winner, with Soggade getting blockbuster talk. Dictator is a disaster there.
Coming to the Telugu states, Soggade is winner while Nannaku Prematho is battling to break even.
