Bollywood Superstar Shah Rukh Khan, one of Indian cinema’s globally popular stars, has surpassed Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the micro-blogging platform Twitter with 16.3 million followers.
SRK is now the second most followed Indian Celebrity trailing only behind bollywood Megastar Amitabh Bachchan, who has 17.9 million followers. Modi takes the third spot with 16.1 million followers to his credit.
The Bollywood star joined Twitter with ‘@iamsrk’ handle on 3rd January, 2010. He is known to be one of the most active users on Twitter with regular tweet updates about happenings in the family, Film memories, philosophical quotes etc.
SRK is widely known for engaging with his followers across the globe every now and then with interactive question-and-answer sessions. Interestingly, SRK achieved this landmark amidst the controversy about his comment on “extreme intolerance in the country”.
The actor is currently busy shooting for ‘Dilwale’, which is slated for Worldwide release on 18th December, 2015.
