Shocking Decision: Dress Code Must to Enter Temples

People all over Tamil Nadu got a huge shock on the eve of New Year when they went to temples for darshan. Many of them were sent back due to not following the prescribed dress code.

Madurai Bench of the Madras High Court has prescribed a dress code for men, Women and Children to enter into temples all over the state from January 1st, 2016. This decision has been taken due to the growing concern over the improper clothes devotees have been wearing in the recent times while visiting temples.

Men – Formal Shirt & Pant or Dhoti/Pyjama with Upper Clothes.
Women – Saree/Half Saree/ Churidhar with Upper Clothes.
Children – Fully covered clothes

As per the directive of the Madurai Bench, these instructions have to be implemented in every temple that falls under Hindu Religious & Charitable Endowments Department.

Mixed reactions among the devotees were observed about the Dress Code.
