A Delhi court on 8th December, today, asked Congress President Sonia Gandhi, Vice President Rahul Gandhi and others to appear in court on December 19 in connection with the National Herald newspaper acquisition case.
It may be noted that senior BJP leader Subramanian Swamy had long back complained about the acquisition of National Herald newspaper by Gandhis. On June 26 last year, a trial court of Delhi had then issued summons to the Congress Chiefs regarding Swamy’s complaint.
The Delhi High Court on 7th Dec, yesterday, quashed the plea of the Gandhi family to dismiss the summons issued by the trial court and asked them to appear before the trial court on 8th Dec, today. And today, they are directed to appear in court on 19th December.
Just after the verdict was out, speaking to media, Sonia Gandhi said that she has no reason to be scared of in the National Herald newspaper case. The Congress chief called the case an act of personal vendetta by the BJP.
