Shahrukh Khan’s latest release Dilwale has clashed with Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s magnum opus ‘Bajirao Mastani’ and had to Share the revenue.
From any SRK starrer, there will be expectations that the Film will do 200, 300 Crore at Box Office. In context of the clash with Bajirao Mastani, when SRK was asked if he has any pressure over box office outcome, SRK simply denied and added,
“I have never had that pressure of my film making this or that amount of money. The idea is that it should get the eyeballs and hopefully all the eyeballs that the film is meant for. Dilwale is supposedly designed for maximum eyeballs. On that criteria when you measure it, yes there will be a measurement in terms of ticket sold but so far so good.
nternationally also, and now that all the theatres are opened, we have held steady. Those are all business talks which means the eyeballs have started pouring in, people are watching it. Then, depending whether those people want to see the film again because there is a long Christmas WEEKEND. But the pressure of an X amount of money or Y amount of money doesn’t figure but as a business yes, we would like the film to cover its monies.
These are supposed to be the profit- making films so that you can put the money in some other aspects of film-making, say Technologically. So as a company yes. But I think the way the film has got the opening, those pressures are over, we are relieved.”
