Tamil Superstar Vijay’s ‘Theri’, which is set to release in the Telugu states as ‘Policeodu’ has been experiencing a last minute headache.
One of leading producers of Tollywood, Dil Raju, is releasing Policeodu in the Telugu states. The Telugu version is slated for its release tomorrow, on 15th April, while the Tamil version has already hit screens today.
Considering the huge buzz for the Film, Dil Raju has planned a huge release across the two Telugu states but little did he expect that the Police Officer’s Welfare Association would come out protesting against Policeodu alleging that the film’s title has hurt their sentiments.
The protesting policemen have demanded to change the film’s title as they feel it is disrespecting the police department. Few policemen under the Leadership of the Welfare Association’s state President Gopireddy and the Hyderabad City President Shankar Reddy have pasted posters on the walls of Dil Raju’s hose demanding the title to be changed.
They have even sent a legal notice to Dil raju. The policemen’s protests seem unreasonable as they didn’t have to remain silent until the last minute to protest as the title was announced long ago.
