As per reliable sources, Vishal’s latest Tamil Film ‘Kathakali’ is being stopped from releasing in Telugu by few Telugu bigwigs.
Kathakali was released for this pongal in Tamil Nadu and was well received by the film lovers. The film was appreciated for its gripping screenplay and subject. In fact, the film was supposed to release for sankranthi in Telugu states but it was stopped then by showing lack of theatres as reason since four direct Telugu Films were releasing.
Now, after a week, the dubbed Telugu version with same name was planned to release on 22nd Jan, today. But the film was stopped at censor itself by not allotting a date for the film to complete the censor formalities. The Movie is postponed by another week now and it will hit screens on 29th Jan only.
Telugu makers were scared that this hit Tamil film will take on sankranthi films which are still playing in theatres. Hence it was strategically stopped.
Directed by Pandiraj, Kathakali is a tight action thriller starring Catherine Tresa as the heroine. Hip Hop Tamizha composed the music.
