Tweeting helps women speak up against sexism

A new study published in the British Journal of Social Psychology showed that publicly tweeting about sexism could enhance the well-being of Women as it can possibly give them a chance to communicate in ways they feel like and can make a difference.

As part of the study,a sum of 93 female undergraduate students were assigned randomly to one of three conditions in regards to tweeting over a three-day period.

One group was obliged to tweet publically, an another privately and the third group did not tweet whatsoever.

All members got data over the three days with respect to topical issues around sexism in politics, the media and in colleges for them to tweet about.

All participants finished mood questionnaires and wellbeing measures after they tweeted.

Examination demonstrated that the group of Women who tweeted publically showed feelings of expanded wellbeing by the third day.

The other two groups did not show any progressions in wellbeing.
