The much awaited work on the flyover at the Kanaka Durga temple in Vijayawada has been started on 5th November.
Officials of the Roads and Buildings Department have commenced the work by demolishing a building in the vicinity of the construction area. The AP government had already paid the compensation for this demolition.
In this connection, the necessary measures for traffic diversion will be taken from November 7 to facilitate the construction of the flyover.
The bridge is expected to be a three-span one and will be divided into 12 units. As per reports, the length of the flyover is 1,850 metres. If we include the approach road on both sides of the bridge, the length will be 2,350 metres.
The bridge is expected to be ready by the forthcoming Krishna Pushkaralu, 2016.
