Journalist associations in Tamil Nadu condemned and demanded an apology from DMDK leader Vijayakanth for spitting at media personnel.
The Chennai Press Club in a statement today condemned Vijaykanth’s action and demanded an open apology, failing which the media would avoid publishing news about him and thus making him vanish from the minds of people. The Consortium of Journalists in India (CJI) President N.B. Sethuraman suggested Vijaykanth to issue a statement of regret saying that his action came out of ignorance.
Earlier in the day, responding to a question as whether AIADMK would again capture power again in the state, opposition leader Vijaykant spat at the media personal, saying that they don’t have the courage to ask that question to Chief Minister Jayalalithaa.
Amidst huge pressure from media, it has to be seen what Captain Vijaykanth does.
