The actor turned politician Megastar Chiranjeevi, along with a few other Congress leaders were arrested at the Rajahmundry airport earlier today.
As per reports, Chiranjeeevi started to Kirlampudi, East Godavari district, to meet Kapu crusader Mudragada Padmanabham, who has started fast unto death demanding Kapus to be included into BCs.
Being a Congress MP and hailing from the same community, Chiranjeevi planned to extend his support to the Kapu mission but he was denied meeting Mudragada by police and subsequently took him into custody.
Chiranjeevi’s support to the mission could raise the intensity of the protests so he was taken into custody. Chiranjeevi, who had a shoulder surgery few days ago, was advised to take two weeks rest but he came out in favor of the protests by Kapu leaders.
Meanwhile, Congress Party workers are protesting against this arrest, alleging that it is unjust.
