JanaSena Party President Pawan Kalyan has said Republic Day was not mere hoisting the national flag and singing ‘Jana Gana Mane and saying “Jai Hind“.
The respect being accorded to the nation and the national flag would be different if people could understand the sacrifices made by great people to ensure the establishment of a sovereign, socialist secular, and democratic and Republic State, he said on the occasion Republic Day.
Mr. Kalyan said the Republic Day should not be a festival to be celebrated in one day as it should be felt like a responsibility to safeguard the national integrity every day.
The 71st Republic Day Celebrations were organised at the JanaSena Party office in Mangalagiri on Sunday.
JanaSena Party President Pawan Kalyan hoisted the tricolour and received the guard of honour on Sunday morning.
Speaking on the occasion, Pawan Kalyan said “all the British laws had gone on this day in 1950 and our laws came into being according to our Indian Constitution. India became a Republic country after the merger of hundreds of colonies. Lakhs of people had lost their lives when Pakistan was formed as a separate nation on the religious lines.”
He said that the greatness of India is that all religions and religious sentiments are honoured equally. Hence it was not declared as the Hindu nation. Pakistan may need to announce their nation as a religious nation, but India has no such necessity.
Secularism is present in our hearts and the nation responds to humanity, he said.
“Our ancestors have made sacrifices for the country and martyred their lives. We shall always safeguard the freedom which we are enjoying is the hard work of great people,” said Kalyan.
He called upon the people to act as responsible citizens to safeguard the national integrity and ready to make sacrifices.
The 71st Republic day Celebrations were organised in a big way at the Janasena Party office. Pawan Kalyan celebrated the Republic Day at the Janasena Parry main office.
