Mary Kom has emerged as the number one boxer in the light fly (45-48kg) category.
Indian Olympic boxer Chungneijang Mary Kom Hmangte, better known as Mary Kom has emerged as the number one boxer in the light fly (45-48kg) category.
Mary Kom, who had become the First Ever woman boxer to win six world championship titles in November 2018, has been ranked number one by the International Boxing Association in the 45-48kg category.
Mary Kom tops her weight division with 1700 points.
Mary Kom is followed by Ukraine’s 22-year-old boxer Hanna Okhota with 1100 points.
Kom is the only woman to become World Amateur Boxing champion for a record six times, and the only woman boxer to have won a medal in each one of the seven world championships.
She became the first Indian woman boxer to get a Gold Medal in the Asian Games in 2014 at Incheon, South Korea and is the first Indian woman boxer to win gold at the 2018 Commonwealth Games.
