In view of the United States sparing Apple devices from brand-new tariffs on Chinese imports, Apple CEO Tim Cook has recently said that he is optimistic about the US-China trade discussions.
During a conversation with ABC News’ ‘Good Morning America’ program, Cook said, “I’m optimistic because trade is one of those things where it’s not a zero-sum game.”
He also said the two countries will sort this issue out and life will move on.
In response to the Apple concerns over brand-new tariffs, Trump took to social media platform Twitter and said that there was an “easy solution” for Apple to avoid tariffs. “Make your products in the United States instead of China. Start building new plants now.”
As of January 2018, more than 1.3 billion Apple products are actively in use Worldwide. The company enjoys a high level of brand loyalty and has been repeatedly ranked as the world’s MOST VALUABLE brand.
However, it receives significant criticism regarding the labor practices of its contractors, its environmental and business practices, including anti-competitive behavior, as well as the origins of source materials.
