Prime Minister Narendra Modi didn’t offer any assurance over Special Status and Special Package to Andhra Pradesh during his speech at the foundation stone laying ceremony of capital city Amaravati, which disappointed Andhrites.
However, we heard that the ongoing Bihar Assembly polls are the major reason for Modi’s act. Reportedly, Union Government is keen to offer a Special Package of Rs 2 lakh Crore to AP as the newly formed state is in pathetic situation post the bifurcation.
As per sources, BJP Government didn’t announce the Special Package already as if they announce bigger package to Andhra Pradesh than Bihar (Rs 1.25 lakh Crore already announced ahead of Bihar Assembly Polls) at this point of time, there might be serious issues for the Saffron Party in Bihar.
So, Narendra Modi is likely to make the official announcement regarding the special package during his next visit to AP, which will be for the inauguration of Visakhapatnam steel plant expansion in January 2016.
An announcement on Railway Zone at Visakhapatnam is also expected at the same time.
