Akkineni Nagarjuna has today called Telangana IT Minister K Taraka Ramarao when he was answering questions in a live TV show and pleaded to take serious action against Film piracy.
After both exchanged warm pleasantries, Nagarjuna appealed to KTR to curb the Film Piracy which has been devastating Tollywood for more than a decade. He explained to the minister that the entire film Industry will get benefit if film pirates are brought before the law.
He further informed KTR that many films are lined up for release this Sankranti festival season and it would be crores of loss if the films get pirated before people see them in cinemas. As expected, KTR obliged to Nagarjuna’s request and vowed to take stringent measures needed to curb piracy.
Nagarjuna’s Soggade Chinni Nayana is set for Worldwide release on the eve of Sankranthi festival, on 15th Jan amidst heavy expectations. It is still not clear why Nag chose to make the request to KTR while the latter was in a live show.
