Pakistan’s Twenty20 Captain Shahid Afridi abandoned a press conference at the Gaddafi stadium in Karachi midway following a verbal spat with one of the reporters.
In fact, the reporter asked Afridi about his plans for the forthcoming ICC World Twenty20 Championship considering his poor performance as a captain. “Your record has not been as impressive as previous Pakistan Twenty20 captains, do you think there is a need to change the way you are leading the side?” asked the reporter.
Pakistan’s T20 skipper, known for his flamboyant character, on and off the field, got angry and walked out before commenting, ‘I expected you to ask such a ghatia question’.
Later, angry journalists launched a protest outside the dressing room of players and demanded an apology from Afridi. Finally, Team Manager Intikhab Alam had to come to pacify the media persons.
Under Afridi’s captaincy, Pakistan lost the recent T20 series to England. There has been severe criticism over his medicore Leadership skills.
